My backyard was very busy today. The blue jay above uses this tree to perch upon to search for peanuts.
The goldfinch shows off a little more yellow this week as he eats thistle.
The house finch takes a moment to pose for a picture.
The mockingbird sits on top of my brush pile and surveys the scene.
A lone crow lands on my neighbors branch.
Squiggy comes for breakfast and never leaves.

love the blue jay. I have been trying for two months to get a good Jay photo and never can. I have to get really close with my camera and they alway turn away from me. Good job. Also love the squirrel.

Oh, nice pictures! I have to 'backyard bird' vicariously until we can get some birds to visit the feeders at our new place. We had a squirrel today, but it was quite exciting because it was the first one! LOL
Lovely photos; we haven't had any squirrels in our garden but my friend does and they eat all the bird food so maybe I'll be content just looking at other people's.

Great pictures, Kim... I've never seen a Mockingbird (that I know of).. I know they are supposedly common here--but not in my yard. Maybe someday!!!!

Another wonderful set. I love the squirrel. The are so much fun to watch. We have one that is a frequent visitor to our yard. We named her Fuzzy.
