Skywatch Friday-Dororthy Pond-Millbury, MA

I got out of work today totally stressed. Jaw was clenched, chest was tight and all of the worries of the day set my sour mood. I decided to go to the pond in search of the Belted Kingfisher. He was not there but the sunset was.

I am a sunrise kind of gal. I love it when the sun opens its eyes the same time as I do. Sunsets have never been my thing until now.

All of the worries of the day disappeared as the sound of birds heading home for the night filled my ears with song. The smell of burning wood filled my nostrils and reminded me of campfires by the lake. The gentle breeze stroked my skin and the beautiful air filled my lungs. The vivid colors of the sky and water was a feast of life for my tired eyes.

I left the pond in a better mood. Sunrises are the perfect way to end your day.

Thanks, Kim. I feel so much better now. You didn't see that dastardly bird, but you did witness a gorgeous sunset and had some healing moments. Lovely.

My nickname for these are rorschach sunsets (or rises), the way everything is a mirror reflection. These are some of the best ever!!

Nature is a great stress reducer :-) These skies are lovely and we all need more time just looking and enjoying and getting away from the "world".
