I got my heated bird bath!

Check it out all. This is what I got from my mother for Christmas. I sent her the link and told her this was all I wanted. She was dumbfounded at first because she couldn't understand why I wouldn't want a trendy new purse or the latest and greatest perfume from Macy's.

You see it's not easy being a birder in a family whose idea of nature is having a picnic outside. I have always been the odd duck of sorts and things that normal women like, I have no desire for. I don't wear jewelry, I don't get my nails done and I don't get excited over scented candles. Give me a heated bird bath any day and I will be just as excited as if you presented me with a pair of pearls.

I can't wait to plug it in. I am hoping I get a lot more birds than I do now considering I am the only one on my street w/ a heated bird bath. I am going to charge up my neglected camera batteries and start taking pictures again. While I was sick I became very depressed because I didn't get outside at all with my camera. It made me realize how the outside has served as my therapy and has helped to keep me somewhat grounded over the past several months.

It was a good Christmas indeed.

Oh Kallen, I'm jealous!!!! I would love one of them. I've talked about getting one--and may get just a small one for my deck. We don't have the horrible weather that you have though. SO--maybe a small one will work for me.

CONGRATS.... I love yours!!!
Hugs,
Betsy
P.S. Glad you are feeling better.

Glad you got back on your feet. It looks like you will have lots of happy customers. Thank you for taking care of the our feathered freinds in Central Mass.

Good for you! I know you will have a lot of enjoyment from it (and we'll get to see and read about it, too!). And you're not alone with the whole forget fancy gifts thing! I'd rather see a ruby-crowned kinglet than have a ruby crown any day!

Glad to see you had a good Christmas. The birds will be pleased too. Getting outside and taking pictures is always a good thing in winter. Have a good day!

What an unselfish request. A present more for the birds than for you! It is lovely!

Yay! What a great gift! I am not a "girly girl" either Kallen, and am often perplexed at the discussions about fashion, jewelry, purses, etc. Means nothing to me. Give me that birdbath any day! Hope to see some wonderful photos of your friends enjoying it!

Yes, my sister-in-laws don't understand my gift preferences either. Wonderful gift idea. I am glad you are feeling better.

That is a very nice birdbath..All you have to do is add fresh water everyday and clean it once a week and the birds will LOVE you...

Hi Kallen,

I'm so glad you are feeling better. Like you, being outdoors is real good therapy and will brighten my mood anyday!

That birdbath is great. I've noticed during extreme cold the birds are very thirsty as well as when it's extremely hot. They will love it!

For Christmas, I asked for gift cards to Wild Birds Unlimited :o)
