Skywatch Friday-Moons, Clouds & Birds

A full moon taken tonight while listening for peenting Woodcocks.
Stormy skies finally starting to break yesterday afternoon after days of rain.

Gulls in flight searching for bread.

Birds at St. Phillips cemetery in Grafton this afternoon.

I love pictures of the moon. The moon is really hard to take pictures but that is great picture you have taken. Great blog

Wow!! You got that moon perfect! They say it's a pink moon right now. But from where I am looking it looks the same. It's just coming up through the woods at my house. I will have to wait till about midnight to get a clear shot at it. It looks huge though!! Great photos!!

Thanks all. Kelly I did see a male woodcock flying into the sky and then landing again. It was cool to see even if if was dark out. The coolest thing was the peenting though.

These are great! Each one makes me forget the last. I love seeing pictures of the moon at night. I don't think my camera is capable of them, so I have to enjoy them elsewhere.

These are quite beautiful and well done. What camera and lens are you using?

Incredible moon shot.

Abe, I am using my Fujifilm Finepix s200HD. I don't have any lenses yet but would like some but I find Fujifilm is hard to get lenses for. I am kicking myself for not getting a Cannon.

FYI for everyone. Moon shots are not that hard if you DON'T use flash. You have to make sure you focus right on the moon and then it comes out okay.

Awesome photos Kim!

Isn't it great that a Skywatch falls on a full moon?

Love the GBH nest photos. I am going this weekend to check out an area rookery.

Thanks for visiting My Skywatch

Great photos! I really love the Heron in the tree. Your blog is so inspiring to me, my parents were avid birders before my mom passed away so I got to learn a lot about birds growing up! Your blog brings back LOTS of memories =)

The bad moon rising image is haunting, but it's the bird shots that do it for me.

Fabulous moon picture. I have been going out at dusk to listen for "peents" but no luck so far.
