Peregrine Falcon Update-July 6th

I have been past due to posting a Peregrine Falcon update and that's mainly because now that the three females have fledged, I don't see them around much anymore. I get glimpses of them here and there, but nothing worthy enough to photograph or post until this morning when I got out of my car to go to work and I saw one of the juvies on top of one of the fixtures at the Catholic Cathedral in downtown Worcester.
The parents continue to keep an eye on them as evidenced in the picture above. One of the adults was perched on another fixture and kept a watchful eye as its young preened and squawked!! I love how young raptors are always calling and practicing using those vocal cords of theirs!

This was the photo from the garage where my car is parked. One of the juvies preening itself.

As an adult continues to keep a watchful eye.

One of the best closeups I could get as the fixtures are way high up in the sky!

Looking over at City Hall in Worcester and watching an arrest in progress I'm sure! ;o)

Speaking of City Hall, the Peregrines seem to have re-discovered this area again. Here is a photo of one of the adults up near the time clock tower on top of City Hall. I put it in black and white because I thought it looked kind of neat!

One in color too.

I am guessing I will be getting more photos now that they are venturing over closer to my area. The juvies are also flying higher now because they are getting stronger and more confident which means there is a good chance they will make it on top of the 446 Main Tower in the next week or so. Maintenance, Parking Lot Attendents and Security Guards are on standby to give me a call when they see it so I can get up there for photos! ;o)

To be continued as always.

Wow! How wonderful that the three little ladies fledged. Doesn't it feel special for you to look up and see these babies? You watched and reported on them through their entire nesting cycle. Very cool...

So nice to have an update on the peregrines. It must be something to hear the calls between them and the parents.
