What a lousy day today. I woke up and was able to get on the Internet for about an hour. After that the cable went out and it was out for the entire day. I shouldn't complain though because half of our town is still without electricity. I spent most of the morning pumping my cellar out from the flooding. I was able to get to the Blackstone River though to see what kind of damage was done there.
My highlight today was seeing the red bellied woodpecker in my yard again. I couldn't get a clear picture of him because our windows were so damp from all the rain.

I am going to pop some Tylenol and go lay down. My throat hurts and my body aches from all the stress I had to put up with today.
I miss catching up with all of my daily blogging stops and will do so tomorrow. I am far too tired tonight.
Take care!

Hang in there. Let's hope the creek doesn't go any higher. I get a kick out of the Red-bellied Woodpecker's name. I guess Red-headed Woodpecker was alread taken. Take care and I wish your town the best during this early winter storm.
Rest up Kallen - snuggle your kitties and I hope your water woes end very soon! (Your red headed was cute - very sweet expression!)
Hope you've seen the worst and things get better and drier! Rest well, and as Rachel Rays says, We'll see ya when we see ya!
Sweet dreams...hope you get a good nights rest...Hope your cellar is dry now.. I spoke to my mother in CT..she said they had four inches of rain there and allot of flooding.
Hope you have a sunny day tommorow...
Hope you dry up soon. I am jealous of your feeder visitor. I have only seen them at the tops of the highest trees.
I'm sorry Kallen. I have had floods and basement flooding and it is stressful..Maybe you are coming down with something..take it easy. Love the red-bellied...
Time to roll up those pant legs, girl!
Stay dry and be well.
Oh Kallen, I'm so sorry. I heard tonight on TV that many people were without electricity all over the place today due to that storm. We had tons of rain and a tiny bit of snow---but nothing damaging.
Love your Red-bellied... That's the female, Petunia... Right???
Hugs,
Betsy
Kallen, I am sorry - sounds tough. Hope the water subsides quickly and no long term damage.
What a way to start a day. It took me 20 minutes to unfreeze my truck door. I thought that was stressful.
Like the red-bellied woodpecker, great picture.
It's been quite a storm, you all were really hit with it. We just got snow where we are but folks in southern and coastal Maine still don't have electricity. I imagine it was a cold night for many. Stay warm and dry and rest those stressed out muscles.
Thanks for the well wishes everyone. I feel much better today. It is supposed to get cold but I don't care. I am still getting out today in search of birds. HA! I am a die hard now. ;o)
Oh no! Kim's got a fever! Bird fever! There's nothing for it.
Wow, that river is raging. Hope things have receded a bit today Kallen and that you are feeling much better. :c)
Kalen, I was just reading about that storm! Sounds terrible. Sure hope it settles down soon.
The internet at my school was off yesterday and the internet at my apartment is off today. I had to run to the library to get online.
No electricity, no internet and flooding basement helps a person appreciate it when things are going well.
Have a good day! Sunny, windy and cold in Juneau! Beautiful day!
Other than that though are you having a good time? -Just kidding. Hope tommorrow is a better day for you.-I get reall annoyed when I lose internet access.-I have to admit that I am somewhat addicted to it.
Take care of yourself. We've heard about your weather and hope it improves soon.
Isn't it crazy how much we rely on the Internet to function throughout the day?! We're all glued to our cell phones, emails and Web for whatever reason. Even companies, such as Portland-based Clear (www.clear.com/?utm_source=bc) allow their users to stay connected to the web, no matter where they go in Portland. Sadly, I could never give up my Internet. Good luck to you!
Great woodpecker pictures! I'm with Steve, why is this bird called a Red-Bellied woodpecker? It just doesn't make sense.
You certainly weren't the only ones flooded but at least you didn't lose your power. How I WISH internet was all we had lost! Thank goodness it's all over now ... at least for most people.
